Becoming a child model launch is a great way to a college fund. And there is much demand for new faces here in the United States and around the world. One of the biggest myths is that you enter in festivals, contests, and pay large sums to get a talent agent. That is simply not true. In fact, you should never have to pay money in advance to a licensed agent - EVER. If you do this, then you are being ripped off. Plain and simple.
Here are 3 rules to avoidScams & Rip-Offs:
Pay Rule number 1: Never before fees per person. I repeat, never! If you are approached by an agent about money before they get you a job, you can be sure they are not real and you are being ripped off.
Rule No. 2: Legitimate licensed modeling agents and do not charge money or fees required front. You will receive 10-20% commission on jobs that they book for you after you paid for the job.
Rule No. 3: legitimate licensing agents haveRelationships with casting directors, personal managers, photographers, producers and production companies. You can legally negotiate deals for you.
Also watch out for people who "claim" to an agent, but are actually a modeling school. You do not have to spend tons of money and a lot of time at a modeling school. All commercial casting calls and auditions are free. To encourage your children to be enthusiastic, confident and above all, be yourself - it.
Good luck in findingthe perfect child model agent licensed for the rising star!
